A vivarium is what your tarantula should stay in. There are mainly three different types of vivarium, wood, plastic and glass. I would always recomend glass as your tarantula will find this harder to climb. However if you are looking for the cheapest option, go for the plastic one. The average size of vivarium needed for a tarantula should measure 30x20x10. However depending on the type of tarantula you have, you could get a better size for that perticular species if you want.
MAKE SURE THAT YOUR VIVARIUM IS WELL VENTILATED! Tarantulas require good ventilation. Usually the vivarium will have air holes at the top or on the lid, however, if it does not either use a drill or soldering iron to make a row or two of small holes of the top of the vivarium to allow decent ventilation for your tarantula.
CLEANING = empty and disinfect every 3-4 months. Not to bad is it.
The vivarium should:
- be away from direct sunlight
- be out of any draughts
- be away from heaters
Your vivarium will also need adiquite heat, humidity and drainage. It will also need a correct substrate at the bottom.
